The Heavy class in Valve's Team Fortress 2 is getting a face lift next week.

According to the official Team Fortress 2 Blog, Valve wanted to "make the Heavy more viable when he has no Medic to pair with." On Tuesday, August 19th, fans of the team-based first person shooter can expect to see a "heavy" amount of updates (pun intended), including three new weapons and 35 new achievements for the Heavy.

One of these weapons has already been revealed: a new pair of boxing gloves called the "Killing Gloves of Boxing," or KGBs. If you don the new gloves and kill an enemy, five full seconds of guaranteed critical hits will follow. Plus, the critical time can increase with every consecutive kill made with the KGBs. Some of the new achievement names include Iron Kurtain, Party Loyalty, Division of Labor, and Red Oktoberfest. The Heavy will be the third character to get upgradable weapons/abilities, following the Medic and the Pyro.

The Heavy isn't the only part of Team Fortress 2 to get a makeover, either. A new map for the Payload game mode will be released, titled Badwater Basin, as well as a new community-made map called cp_steel, created by Jamie "Fishbus" Manson. As if new weapons, maps and achievements weren't enough, a brand new (and yet to be named) game mode is being rolled out, complimented by five new maps. Also, another segment of the "Meet the Team" videos should be expected sometime between now and Tuesday.
